When You Have a Presentation Formula, You Can Be Pretty Darn Fabulous
It can be hard to figure out where to begin a presentation. When you have a roadmap, though, you know how to get started, and you know exactly where to go.
From mid-April until late June of 2022, our household was plagued with having to drive one loaner car or another due to our own car having a malfunction that gave the dealership a real challenge with figuring out how to fix it. First, we had a red Dodge Charger, then a black base model Ford Bronco, then a white Cadillac XT5. I’m the one typically assigned to drive the loaners since it was my car that was on the blink. And I’m also the one who’s usually carting our son from one activity to the next — baseball practice, basketball practice, football practice, birthday parties, LEGO camp, sports camp, trampoline park camp, play dates, museum visits, lunch dates, swim lessons ... Moms, you get the idea.
With me operating all of these loaners and occasionally my husband’s Dodge Ram 1500, it’s turned me into something of a superstar in our son’s eyes. He is thoroughly impressed that I can seemingly effortlessly operate all these different automobiles! HA! “Kid, there’s nothing to it! Once you know how to drive and read road signs, it doesn’t matter what wheel you get behind, you still know how to get from point A to point B.” (And what he doesn’t realize is his dad is the far more impressive one when it comes to operating motor vehicles. In addition to the run-of-the mill automatic and manual transmission passenger cars as well as motorcycles both big and small, with his commercial driver’s license that I’ve jokingly said he’s had since he was five years old, my husband has operated everything from city busses in some of America’s biggest and busiest cities, to 18-wheelers in an OTR [over-the-road] stint from 2009 until 2010, as well as light rail trains. I have nothing on him!)
